Mercurey is an "appellation d'origine contrôlée" (AOC) in the Burgundy wine region. It is best known for producing red wines from the Pinot Noir grape variety, although white wines from the Chardonnay grape are also produced, although to a lesser extent. Mercurey is one of the most important appellations in the Côte Chalonnaise, a wine-growing region south of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy.

Typical red wines of Mercurey are often described as elegant, fruity and aromatic, with notes of red and black fruits and subtle spices.

Typical Mercurey white wines, although less common, are generally fresh, mineral and expressive, with white-fleshed fruit aromas and good acidity.

Domaine MIA is one of the largest estates on the Côte Chalonnaise today cultivated in organic farming, certified by Ecocert. It covers around twenty hectares, spread over appellations full of surprises and rising gems of Burgundy in Mercurey and Rully.

At Domaine MIA, the Cuvée CLOS DES MONTAIGUS has been one of the five historical Premier Crus of the Mercurey appellation since 1944.
