Œnotourism or Wine tourism is a form of tourism that focuses on discovering wine-growing regions, vineyards and wine culture. The word itself is a contraction of oenology (the study of wine) and tourism, and therefore refers to tourism that combines the discovery of the cultural, gastronomic and historical aspects of wine production in a given region.
Typical wine tourism activities can include vineyard and cellar tours, wine tastings, wine courses to learn how to taste and appreciate wine, gourmet meals accompanied by local wines, wine festivals, vineyard walks, visits to picturesque villages and other wine-related cultural experiences.
Wine tourism has become increasingly popular in many wine-growing regions and particularly in Burgundy, offering travellers an immersive and rewarding way to discover the region's wine heritage while enjoying its landscapes, cuisine and local culture.
